One Armenian soldier, at least 2 Azeri killed in latest subversive act
Around 2:55 am on the night of May 27-28 Azerbaijan attempted yet another reconnaissance subversive incursion in the southern direction of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic and Azerbaijan.
The frontline units of the NKR Defense Army noticed in time the advance of Azerbaijani special detachment troops and took retaliatory actions. The enemy had to retreat, suffering considerable losses.
According to preliminary information, at least two Azerbaijani soldiers were killed and one wounded. The NKR Defense Army had one casualty. Corporal Erik Gasparyan, 19, died in the fighting.
The NKR Defense Ministry shares the grief of bereavement and expresses its support to the family, relatives and fellow servicemen of Erik Gasparyan.
Details of the subversive act are being clarified, the press service of NKR Defense Ministry said.
The frontline units of NKR Defense Army continue to perform confidently their combat duties along the Line of Contact.
