Iraq: Attacks kill at least 10 people in capital
Iraqi officials say separate attacks in the capital have killed at least 10 people, The Associated Press reported.
Police say the deadliest attack Wednesday was carried out by a suicide car bomber who struck a police checkpoint in Baghdad's northern Kazimiyah district, killing three policemen and three civilians. They said 18 others were wounded in the attack.
In Baghdad's western suburb of Abu Ghraib, a bomb went off in a commercial area, killing two civilians and wounding three others. Another civilian was killed and three wounded in the northeastern suburb of Husseiniyah, while drive-by shooters killed a lawyer as he was driving through the eastern New Baghdad neighborhood.
Medical officials confirmed the causality figures. All officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release information.
