Businessman Ashot Sukiasyan to be extradited to Armenia
Georgian Ministry of Justice on June 3 took a decision to extradite businessman Ashot Sukiasyan, according to the press service of Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office.
Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office instructed the Main Criminal Investigation Department of the Armenian Police to organize Ashot Sukiasyan’s extradition to Armenia.
Ashot Sukiasyan was wanted by the Armenian police. He was detained in neighboring Georgia on January 31, 2014. On February 3 Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office sent a petition to the Office of Georgian Prosecutor General, asking it to hand over Ashot Sukiasyan to Armenian law enforcement bodies so that they could start criminal proceedings against him.
On April 15 a Georgian court granted the petition for A. Sukiasyan’s extradition to Armenia.
