Japan to provide $1.93M grant to Armenian MES
An agreement on the provision of a grant to Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) was signed between the governments of Japan and Armenia in Yerevan yesterday. Under the agreement, 200 million yens’ ($1.93 million) worth of goods of Japanese small and medium enterprises will be given to the Armenian side, Armenian Foreign Ministry said.
The agreement was signed by Armenian Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Haykaram Mkhitaryan and Japanese Ambassador to Armenia Tikahito Harada.
Following the signing ceremony Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Manaseryan received Ambassador Harada. A wide range of bilateral cooperation issues was discussed at the meeting.
The sides stressed that the opening of the Japanese embassy in Armenia will give renewed impetus to cooperation.
