S. Sargsyan and H. Fischer attend opening of Armenian-Austrian forum

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan and Austrian President Heinz Fischer attended today the opening ceremony of an Armenian-Austrian economic forum at the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, the presidential press service said.

Prior to the forum, the Armenian president met with President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber Christoph Leitl.

At the meeting the interlocutors indicated the importance of measures on the further expansion of commercial and economic cooperation between Armenia and Austria and expressed confidence that the Armenian-Austrian forum held as part of the two-day official visit of President Sargsyan will help strengthen business links between businessmen of the two countries and give impetus to cooperation.

Serzh Sargsyan and Christoph Leitl noted with satisfaction that bilateral commodity turnover indices are gradually improving, but they also said that the commercial and economic direction of cooperation needs a serious stimulus.

In their speeches, Presidents of Armenia and Austria welcomed the economic forum participants and wished success to the forum in the name of development of economic cooperation between the two countries.
