Son of Yerevan mayor’s advisor released on bail
Samvel Kotanjyan, the son of Yerevan mayor’s advisor Araik Kotanjyan, has been released on bail, Aysor.am was informed by the press service of the Armenian police.
There was a shooting at the intersection of Sevak and Ulnetsi Streets in Yerevan on June 6. Policemen found out that around 10:50 pm an unknown man fired several shots into the air during an argument in the yard of a house on Ulnetsi Street and then those present fled the scene.
3 cartridge cases of a 9mm pistol and a bullet were found at the scene. A criminal case was opened under Article 258 part 4 and Article 235 part 1 of the Criminal Code.
Around 11:10 pm on June 10 Samvel K., 24, - the son of Araik Kotanjyan who is the former head of Yerevan’s Kanaker-Zeytun administrative district, the current advisor to Yerevan mayor – surrendered a 9mm Makarov pistol to police. He told policemen that he fired several shots from that pistol into the air in the yard of house No 74 on Ulnetsi Street on June 6.
S. Kotanjyan was detained. Later two other man involved in the incident also surrendered to the police. One of them - Sedrak P., 40, was detained. Police are looking for yet another person – 21-year-old Gor H. An investigation is underway.
