H. Manukyan: Some demands of life-term prisoners to be met
The lawful demands of Nubarashen prison’s life-term prisoners who went on hunger strike will be met, Armenian Justice Minister Hovhannes Manukyan told reporters prior to the government session today.
According to him, the prisoners ended their hunger strike and Justice Ministry is now dealing with their problems.
The demands that are beyond reasonable limits will not be examined, the minister said. He then approached a group of citizens staging a protest outside the government and heard their complaints.
In response to a remark that protests of discontented citizens outside the Armenian government have become a regular occurrence, which probably means that their demands are not met, the justice minister said: “No. It means that we live in a democratic country and people can voice their problems at the government building”.
