Open-air screenings to be held at Swan Lake: Golden Apricot Festival
Director of Golden Apricot International Film Festival Harutyun Khachatryan told reporters today that during the festival, an initiative “Apricot Tree” that may evolve into a separate festival will be launched with the support of Yerevan Municipality.
In response to a question about the peculiarities of the Golden Apricot festival this year, Khachatryan said that numerous events are planned on the occasion of Parajanov’s 90th birthday, and more Asian films will participate this time.
Another speaker at the press conference, Deputy Mayor of Yerevan Aram Sukiasyan said Golden Apricot assists the state program aimed at turning Yerevan into a regional cultural center.
In his words, next year Yerevan Municipality will hold open-air screenings in various administrative districts of the city during Golden Apricot Festival so that city residents could see the festival films, while this year such open-air screenings will be organized in the area adjacent to Swan Lake each day from 9:00 pm.
