Ohanyan: Diversionists may be connected to 17-year-old’s disappearance
Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan did not rule out the possibility that the Azerbaijani commando group whose members were captured or neutralized in Karvachar at the end of last week may be connected to the disappearance of citizen of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Smbat Tsakanyan, 17.
“It is likely that during the investigation of the criminal case it will turn out that the commando group of Azerbaijani armed forces was connected to the NKR citizen’s disappearance,” the minister said during a briefing today.
As for rumors that the diversionists killed the young man, Ohanyan said he did not receive such information. “Investigators will clarify the details,” he noted.
Search for Smbat Tsakanyan is underway. The press service of the NKR police reported earlier that around 9:00 pm on July 7, 52-year-old resident of Nor Erkedj village in Shahumyan region Mekhak Tsakanyan informed the regional police station that his son Smbat Tsakanyan, 17, went missing. The young man left their house at 9:00 pm on July 4 and never returned. Prior to that, the mass media said that Smbat might have been captured by members of an Azerbaijani commando unit.
