Body of missing Smbat Tsakanyan, 17, found in Karvachar
The body of 17-year-old Smbat Tsakanyan, a citizen of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic who went missing last week, has been found in Karvachar region of the NKR. Aysor.am was informed by reliable sources that traces of violence and numerous wounds were found on his body.
An employee of the Shahumyan police station of the NKR told the correspondent of Aysor.am that this information can be confirmed only by the PR unit, but there was nobody there at that time.
During a briefing today Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan did not rule out that the Azerbaijani commando group, which was rendered harmless in Karvahar at the end of last week, might be connected to Smbat Tsakanyan’s disappearance.
The press service of the NKR police reported earlier that around 9:00 pm on July 7, 52-year-old resident of Nor Erkedj village in Shahumyan region Mekhak Tsakanyan informed the regional police station that his son Smbat Tsakanyan, 17, went missing. The young man left their house at 9:00 pm on July 4 and never returned. Prior to that, the mass media said that Smbat might have been captured by members of an Azerbaijani commando unit.
