Poroshenko, Polish PM discuss creation of joint military brigade
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko held phone consultations with Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk during which the two discussed the creation of a Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian military brigade, Poroshenko’s press service announced Monday, according to RIA Novosti.
“The sides paid much attention to the issues of the creation of a Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian military brigade ‘UrkPolLitBrig’, in particular, they agreed to sign a relevant accord in the near future,” the press statement reads.
Apart from that, Poroshenko offered Poland to join the program of creating new jobs on the territories that were abandoned by independence supporters in Donbas.
Earlier in June, Ukraine’s acting Defense Minister Mykhailo Koval said Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland have reached a deal on forming a joint military brigade.
