Hraparak: Azerbaijan waits for new proposals
Hraparak’ writes that during the meeting with French President Francois Hollande, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan reacted positively to the proposal of holding a summit with Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev. Following some maneuvers, I. Alieyev also agreed to meet, the paper says. Yet after Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s visit to Baku, Azerbaijan gave the American and French sides to understand that the meeting will take place if concrete pro-Azerbaijani proposals are presented.
“The point is that Hollande and the American side not only want to organize a meeting in Paris, but also to achieve the signing of a document between the sides that would be nothing more than a declaration, in which the sides confirm their consent to a peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict. That is not enough for Azerbaijan playing serious games with the Russian side. Our sources say the meeting is being delayed for this reason, but it will be held nevertheless,” the paper writes.
