Prosecutor requests 7 years for Hrachia Harutyunyan
Judicial pleadings in the case of Armenian truck driver Hrachia Harutyunyan started in Twerskoy court of Moscow. The prosecutor requested 7 years for H. Harutyunyan.
Harutyunyan’s lawyer Ruben Markaryan told Aysor.am that forged document use charges against his client should be dropped as unsubstantiated. He also asked the court to take into account the fact that the defendant admitted his guilt.
It is still unknown when the sentence will be pronounced.
Armenian citizen Hrachia Harutyunyan, 46, is charged with violation of rules of traffic safety and operation of transport vehicles, causing the death of two or more persons (Article 264 of Russian Criminal Code), and with use of knowingly forged document (Article 327).
The road accident in July 2013 near Moscow left 18 people dead and 14 others seriously injured. 47 people were recognized as aggrieved party in the criminal case.
