8 Azerbaijani servicemen reported killed
Azerbaijan’s Defense Ministry officially confirmed deaths of 8 Azerbaijani servicemen in the past 24 hours. According to Azerbaijani Defense Ministry, the losses were allegedly suffered “as a result of an Armenian subversive action”, APA news agency reported.
Late Thursday Azerbaijani Defense Ministry confirmed the death of another soldier: Garyagdy Eldar oglu Ahmedov was killed in the Agdam direction of the frontline, near Chiragly village.
The press service of Defense Army of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic reported earlier that on July 31 Azerbaijani troops launched an attack at a frontline position of a military unit located in the northern direction of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Karabakh and Azerbaijan. The Azerbaijani troops met with organized resistance of NKR Defense Army’s frontline units that showed a high level of preparedness. The enemy was thrown back to its previous position and suffered considerable losses. Two servicemen of the NKR Defense Army were killed in the fighting.
