Moscow court finds Hrachia Harutyunyan guilty in crash that killed 18
Troitski court of Moscow found today Armenian citizen Hrachia Harutyunyan guilty in the road accident that killed 18 people near Moscow last year.
The court is likely to pass a sentence today. The prosecutor has requested seven years in prison for Harutyunyan.
Hrachia Harutyunyan is charged with violation of the rules of traffic safety and operation of transport vehicles, causing the death of two or more persons (Article 264 of Russian Criminal Code), and use of knowingly forged document (Article 327).
Harutyunyan has been in police custody since July 2013. He already pleaded guilty to causing the crash.
On July 13 of last year Harutyunyan’s truck loaded with crushed stones ploughed into a passenger bus in the so-called new Moscow. 18 people were killed, over 60 others received injuries in the accident.
