Hraparak: Turning point not expected in Sochi, H. Igityan says
When discussing the upcoming meeting of Presidents Sargsyan and Aliyev in Sochi, member of Armenian All-National Movement (HHSh) Party board Hovhannes Igityan told ‘Hraparak’ paper that no turning point should be expected as a result of the meeting.
“After the statement of James Warlick, the impression was that the OSCE Minsk Group was trying to become active and find a solution to the conflict, when President Hollande proposed organizing a meeting in Paris, it was evident that an attempt was being made to achieve progress in the negotiating process, but I find it difficult to directly connect the upcoming meeting in Sochi with the Karabakh conflict because this meeting was only initiated to reduce tension. Russia will just try to act as a reconciliator or a state promoting peace,” Igityan said.
Political scientist Aghasi Yenokyan also expressed the same opinion. He considered it unlikely that a document will be signed.
