New encroachment attempt repelled, 1 Azerbaijani soldier killed
Around 11:00 pm on August 5 an Azerbaijani special mission unit made a new attempt to infiltrate into Armenian positions in the southeast Martuni (Yusifjanly) direction of the Line of Contact between the armed forces of Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan, the press service of NKR Defense Ministry reported.
The frontline units of NKR Defense Army took retaliatory actions, repelling the enemy. One Azerbaijani serviceman (Sail Yasharoglu Tarlanly) was killed, several others wounded.
Besides this subversive attempt, on August 5 and the first half of August 6 the Azerbaijani side violated the ceasefire about 370 times along the frontline, firing over 7,000 shots from guns of various calibers.
The enemy’s activity was suppressed by the frontline units of NKR Defense Army. The Defense Army is now in full control of the border.
