Heffern: If sanctions harm Armenia, you can complain to Moscow
The trilateral meeting of Armenian, Russian and Azerbaijani Presidents in Sochi contributed to a reduction of border shootings, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia John Heffern told reporters on Monday, Aravot.am reports.
According to the Ambassador, meetings of the Presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan are the best way towards a peaceful resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
When asked about a possible impact on Armenia of U.S. sanctions against Russia, the envoy said, “The sanctions are aimed against Russia, not Armenia, but they can affect Armenia’s economy. If Armenia does not like this, they should complain to Moscow.”
