Putin, Poroshenko may discuss Ukraine crisis, humanitarian issues
Presidents of Russia and Ukraine Vladimir Putin and Petro Poroshenko will likely hold a meeting in the Belarusian capital of Minsk on Tuesday.
“We do not rule this out,” Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov told ITAR-TASS.
“There are very many issues for debate,” he noted. “This is talks on domestic Ukrainian crisis, a horrible humanitarian disaster in the country’s east and the need for a ceasefire,” Peskov added.
Meanwhile, the leaders of the two countries may discuss “bilateral ties between Russia and Ukraine, particularly in view of Kiev’s signing of the association deal with the European Union.” “In this issue there is certainly a very large energy aspect,” the spokesman added.
