ChI: Russian warplanes cannot enter Armenia’s airspace
“As is known, sanctions were imposed on Russia following the Crimea events, due to which Russia is already facing some difficulties,” ‘Chorrord Ishkhanutyun’ paper writes. According to the paper, since July Russian warplanes have not been able to enter Armenia’s airspace. These planes service the Russian military base in Armenia. Turkey and Georgia banned Russian military warplanes from flying over their territories and this also prevents flights to Armenia.
The paper writes that the Russian 102nd military base in Gyumri was already re-manned with conscripts, but Moscow cannot supply the necessary military equipment because of sanctions.
“The airbase in Erebuni and 102nd base in Gyumri are waiting for military cargo that is now at the Rostov airport in Russia,” the paper says.
