Haykakan Zhamanak: Number of first graders increased this year
‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily says that this academic year the number of first graders in Armenia increased by about 700 as compared to last year. About 36,800 children went into the first grade year last year, while this year their number amounted to about 37,500, according to data of Armenian Ministry of Education and Science.
“41, 238 babies were born in Armenia in 2008. 6 year later – in 2014 as many children were expected to go into the first grade. However, as we can see, their number is fewer by 3740,” the daily notes.
