Haykakan Zhamanak: Ara Ghazaryan decides to run for ICHR judge
‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily says that the situation is clarifying concerning candidates for Armenia’s judge in the European Court of Human Rights (HCHR).
International law expert Ara Ghazaryan who is considered the most likely candidate of the non-government wing told the daily a week ago that he didn’t decide yet whether or not to participate in the contest, while yesterday he said that he took a final decision.
“Ghazaryan will participate in the contest. His chances are assessed as high and the government wing is concerned that in case of his nomination, the ECHR which has to choose one of the 3 Armenian candidates will choose Ghazaryan. He has not yet submitted his documents to the contest commission. No one has been officially nominated so far,” the paper writes.
