Aravot: Aghabekyan on rumors of his appointment as defense minister
Rumors are recently circulating among members of Yerkrapah Union of Veterans that Deputy Prime Minister of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic Arthur Aghabekyan will be appointed defense minister of Armenia. The correspondent of ‘Aravot’ paper clarified details from A. Aghabekyan.
Question: There are rumors among Yerkrapah Union members that you will be appointed Armenian defense minister, while Arkady Ghukasyan will become president of the NKR once again. What would you say about that?
Answer: There can be various rumors in various circles. I want to assure you that I cannot be brought or taken away. I came and will remain. Yerkrapah members know well that in Artsakh, I still have to do work for at least 20 years. As for rumors about my appointment as Armenian defense minister, I would like to say that I have worked with six defense ministers and Seyran Ohanyan is the most professional one among them. Thanks to his strategic planning, we currently have an efficient army that the Armenian people deserve.
