Yuri Vardanyan sure that ambassador’s post not in line with his caliber

‘Zhoghovurd’ paper reported yesterday that Armenian Ambassador to Georgia Yuri Vardanyan gave an original gift – his own photo in a nice frame – to Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze.

According to ‘Hraparak’ paper, the Georgian authorities were utterly surprised by the Armenian ambassador’s behavior, and not only because of that strange present. The man is so far from diplomacy that he gives the foreign minister of a country at variance with Russia a photo showing his victory in a world championship with USSR logo on his uniform.

“Yuri Vardanyan declares everywhere that the post of ambassador to Georgia is not in line with his caliber. The Georgian authorities consider it insulting because Georgia today is the only country linking Armenia with the rest of the world. They are surprised that Armenia appoints as ambassador a man does not realize the importance of relations with neighbors,” the paper says.
