Criminal case opened over Defense Ministry car crash
The Main Military Investigative Department of Armenia’s Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the Criminal Code’s Article 377 part 2 (violation of motor vehicle operation rules, resulting in death by negligence) in connection with the crash of Armenian Defense Ministry’s GAZ-66 car near Artsvaberd village in Tavush province, according to the press service of Investigative Committee.
Around 5:00 pm on September 19, a GAZ-66 car of Armenian Defense Ministry left the roadway and fell into a gorge near Artsvaberd village in Tavush province. The driver, Captain Pavlik Manukyan, died at the scene.
The passengers of the car – Senior Lieutenant Harutyun Khachatryan, Lieutenant Armen Hovsepyan, Junior Sergeants Grisha Grigoryan, Narek Mirzoyan, Mher Vardanyan, Sergeant Boris Tunyan, and Privates Tigran Ohanyan, Avetik Nazaryan, Artyom Abrahamyan, Ashot Sargsyan, Muraz Sadoyan, and Vardges Khachatryan received injuries and were taken to the military hospital of the city of Berd. They are in satisfactory condition.
