Singer Andre receives title of Armenia’s Honored Artist
In accordance with decrees of Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan, a number of representatives of Armenia’s science, economy, heath care and education sectors, Diaspora Armenia figures, employees of the judicial system, the Armenian army, the National Security Service and the police received highest state awards and honorary titles on the occasion of the 23rd anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Armenia.
Singer Andre received the title of Honored Artist of Armenia.
“I have worked in both Armenia and Artsakh. It is the result of my work in the past 20 years. The title was a complete surprise to me. They called me in the morning and invited me to the ceremony,” the singer said.
Singers Anush and Inga Arshakyans and actress Evelina Shahiryan were also among the awards recipients.
Evelina Shahiryan who received the Movses Khorenatsi Medal told reporters that she is happy to live in independent Armenia. She thanked the President and Culture Ministry for the medal.
