Haykakan Zhamanak: HHK-BHK coalition still exists
Deputies of Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) and Prosperous Armenia (BHK) parliamentary factions blocked Nikol Pashinyan’s bill on border villages. The bill proposed giving a number of privileges to most vulnerable villages along the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, according to ‘Hayakakan Zhamanak’ daily.
The paper says the main argument of HHK and BHK deputies was that a working group has been set up by the government to examine the same issue and submit proposals.
Pashinyan welcomed the creation of a working group by the government and political forces, adding that however, no draft document has been developed so far, while the problem of border villages is urgent and should be solved prior to discussions of the state budget for the next year.
“HHK and BHK eventually killed the bill. By the way, the impression is that HHK-BHK coalition still exists at the Standing Committee on Territorial Administration and Local Government Affairs as coalition partners here sometimes continue to vote in the same way,” the paper writes.
