Materials of incident with media representative sent to prosecutor’s office

Armenian Prosecutor General’s Office sent mass media reports of the September 19 incident at Armenia-Diaspora Forum to the Office of Prosecutor of Yerevan’s Kentron and Nork-Marash administrative districts.

According to media reports, Artyusha Karapetyan, the chairman of the Association of Armenian Cultural Centers of Kazakhstan, and Ms. Taguhi Hovhannisyan, a correspondent of ‘Haykakan Zhamanak’ daily, were involved in the incident. A. Karapetyan seized T. Hovhannisyan’s cellphone and told his bodyguards to delete all videos from her cellphone.

The mass media materials about obstruction of a reporter’s professional activity were sent to the appropriate body that will check the details and start proceedings under the Criminal Procedure Code, the press service of Prosecutor General’s Office said.
