Armenia to be involved as third party in Perincek case
The Republic of Armenia will be involved as a third party in the case of Dogu Perincek against Switzerland (Pernvek v. Switzerlan App. no. 27510/08) to be examined by the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR).
Armenia’s Representative to the ECHR, Armenian Prosecutor General Gevorg Kostanyan on August 20 asked the court to involve Armenia as a third party, the press service of Prosecutor General’s Office said.
On September 26 the Grand Chamber of the ECHR approved the possibility of Armenia’s participation. A sitting is scheduled for January 28, 2015. Prior to that, the Armenian side shall present its position in writing to the Grand Chamber of ECHR and it will be given an opportunity to make a speech at the January 28 sitting. Turkey is also involved as a third party in the case Perincek v. Switzerland.
