European Heritage Days start in Armenia
European Heritage Days in Armenia, entitled as "Retrospect: 100 years later", will be held from September 27-28. The European Heritage Days events are related to the First World War. Their goal is to provide emotional journey, recognizing the cultural genocide of the Armenian people, their cultural heritage: historical monuments and irreversible loss of spiritual values, reliving the history of the past 100 years and to revalue the creative power of human ashes coming out again.
Visits will be organized to the residence of the Armenian president, the National Assembly and the government, the central railway station in Yerevan, the Spendiarian Opera and Ballet Theatre, the Byurakan Observatory, the National Library, the famous Blue Mosque in Yerevan, and the French embassy in Armenia.
This year, a number of state and private museums will introduce a rich assortment of events at public institutions, even those museums, which are normally closed for public visits, will open their doors.
The European Heritage Days is the initiative of the European Union and the European Council, which is to be held in 50 European countries that joined the European Cultural Convention.
