Russia, Kazakhstan sign binding deal to build nuclear plant
Russian nuclear power corporation Rosatom on Tuesday signed a binding agreement with Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry to construct a nuclear power station in Kazakhstan, ITAR-TASS reported.
In May, Rosatom and local nuclear power company Kazatomprom signed a memorandum to cooperate in building of a nuclear plant with a capacity of 300-1,200 megawatts.
The Kazakh nuclear plant could cost less than $5 billion, Rosatom's CEO Sergei Kiriyenko said earlier.
