Prosecutor requests 13 years for Vazgen Khachikyan

At today’s court sitting in the case of former head of Armenia’s State Social Security Service Vazgen Khachikyan, the prosecutor made a speech requesting 13 year imprisonment for Khachikyan and seizure of his property.

As regards other persons involved in the “pension case”, the prosecutor requested 6.5 years for Ashot Abrahamyan, 6 years 2 months for Hovhannes Grigoryan, 4.5 years for Vigen Gevorgyan and Arthur Sukiasyan, 6.5 years for Vahagn Khachatryan and Hovhannes Hovhannesyan, 5 years for Samvel Elbakyan, and 4 years for Hamlet Martirosyan, Bagrat Muradyan, Armen Khachatryan and Hranush Danielyan.

The prosecutor petitioned for parole and one-year probation for Hranush Danelyan.

The defendants owe the state 267 million 583 thousand 336 drams, the prosecutor said. The defense lawyers were given time to prepare their speeches.
