World Bank to continue support of Armenia
Armenian Prime Minister Hovik Abrahamyan met in Washington with the World Bank’s Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer Bertrand Badre and the Vice President of the WB for Europe and Central Asia Laura Tuck, the press office of the Armenian government reported.
The prime minister expressed appreciation for cooperation with the World Bank.
“Remaining committed to the agenda of reforms, we will continue our efforts on enhancing Armenia’s competitiveness and ensuring economic development,” H. Abrahamyan said.
In his words, further cooperation with WB will expand, while programs in Armenia will retain the highest level of implementation in the region.
Bertrand Badre underlined the importance of continuing cooperation. “Armenia is a reliable partner of the World Bank and we are glad to continue cooperation on the implementation of long-term programs,” he said.
Laura Tuck called Armenia’s loan portfolio performance excellent. She said the WB will continue to support Armenia and help it carry out reforms.
