Harutyun Mesropyan: Armenian economy is uncompetitive
There is nothing unusual in fluctuations of the dollar and the national currency in Armenia: it would be strange if such phenomena did not occur, economist Harutyun Mesropyan told reporters today.
“Armenia implements a floating exchange rate policy in the financial market which implies fluctuations. If fluctuations do not exceed 3% in a week, the consumer should not pay attention at them,”the economist said.
According to him, the Armenian economy is uncompetitive, while the oligarchy and the authorities are interfused.
The chairman of the Association of Consumers of Armenia Armen Poghosyan said for his part that the country’s economy is now in decline due to the irrational economic policy.
“The unsatisfactory state of our economy is conditioned not so much by international developments or relations as by the illiterate internal organization,” Poghosyan said.
He shared the economist’s opinion saying that he considers oligarchy as one of the main evils for a state.
