Criminal case opened over teen’s abduction

Investigation Committee’s investigatory unit of Erebuni and Nubarashen administrative districts in Yerevan opened a criminal case in connection with a teen’s abduction, according to the press service of Armenia’s Investigation Committee.

Information was received at 8:00 pm on October 19 that Khachatryan, a 15-year-old girl, was taken by ambulance to Erebuni Medical Center.

A case was opened based on the teen’s statement. She said that four unknown men approached her on Zavarian Street in Yerevan, forced her into a car and took her to a garage where they tied her arms and legs, put tape on her mouth and blindfolded. Using obscene language, they made death threats against the girl and her father. Then the kidnappers took the girl with her hands tied to Tigran the Great Avenue and drove away.

A criminal case was opened by the investigatory unit under Article 131 part 2 points 1 and 4 of the Criminal Code. An investigation is underway.
