Hraparak: Velvet revolution impossible in Armenia
Political scientist Sergey Minasyan explains passivity of the trio of non-pro-government parliamentary political forces by the fact that the authorities do not take the trio seriously, neither do they resort to tough counterblows. In an interview with ‘Hraparak’ paper, S. Minasyan said that he considers it unlikely that Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of one of the trio’s parties – Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), will take sharp actions. According to him, a velvet revolution is also impossible in Armenia since at least, weak authorities are needed for that.
“The current authorities can be underrated by many parameters, but not by weakness of law enforcement and security forces. A velvet revolution is therefore impossible,” Sergey Minasyan noted.
