Prosecutor on Aghvan Hovsepyan’s statement and March 1 case
During a briefing after the government session today, Prosecutor General of Armenia Gevorg Kostanyan declined to comment on the statement of Head of Armenia’s Investigatory Committee Aghvan Hovsepyan to the effect that all circumstances of the March 1, 2008 case have already been revealed.
“Let Aghvan Hovsepyan comment on his statement himself,” Kostanyan noted.
“The most important principle of criminal procedure is an efficient investigation of the case. This is so not only in Armenian legislation, but also from the viewpoint of international criminal law,” Kostanyan said.
According to him, integrity, versatility and efficiency are guarantees of an efficient investigation.
“Criminal procedure is to be completed if these three principles are secured,” the prosecutor general said.
