IMF: Economic growth rate declining in Armenia
The rate of economic growth is declining in Armenia. 2.6% growth is forecast for 2014, IMF Resident Representative in Armenia Teresa Daban Sanchez told reporters today.
According to her, the decline in economic growth is due in particular to Russia’s factor.
The IMF representative said that no growth was recorded in the Russian economy, while EU countries do not gain growth momentum. Russia and the European Union are the main economic partners of Armenia. Especially important are remittances sent from Russia, but their amounts have decreased, which may be a result of the ruble’s depreciation, T. Sanchez explained.
