Construction completion dates to be revised in Armenia
In Armenia, it is necessary to ensure proportional territorial development, implement various community programs, and meet schedules of construction work and turning the projects over for operation, Minister of Urban Development Narek Sargsyan said today during debates of the 2015 draft state budget.
In his words, an attempt is made to change some criteria developed in the past few years, in particular to revise dates of construction completion.
“The completion index should be raised to 60% and higher. These steps are taken so that the construction of buildings would not be delayed for over two years and to rule out cases when construction work lasts 5-6 years,” N. Sargsyan said.
In his words, this issue raises concern because, for example, an analysis of 13 projects was made in school construction and funds were redistributed to complete construction work in due time. The minister noted that otherwise, according to earlier calculations, those projects’ construction would be completed within ten years.
