Ukrainian president’s son Alexei Poroshenko elected to national parliament
Alexei Poroshenko, a son of Ukraine’s President Pyotr Poroshenko, has been officially recognized as lawmaker of the Verkhovna Rada, or Ukraine’s parliament, the Central Election Commission said Wednesday, TASS reported.
Alexei Poroshenko ran for a seat in the parliament in a one-seat constituency in the city of Vinnitsa, west-central Ukraine. He enrolled the support of 64.04% voters.
At the 2012 parliamentary elections, his father, the current Ukrainian President Pyotr Porohenko, ran for a parliamentary seat in the same constituency. He then won 71.5% of the vote.
