Haykakan Zhamanak: Vatche Gabrielyan to head new ministry
It was announced at the government session yesterday that a new ministry – Ministry of International Economic Integration and Reforms will be set up soon. In all likelihood Vatche Gabrielyan will head the new ministry.
According to “Haykakan Zhamanak”, the creation of the ministry has a specific aim: “As was already reported, the EU will provide a grant of 170 million euros to Armenia by 2017. The agreement was signed in Brussels on November 3 by Armenian Minister of Economy Karen Chshmarityan and Commissioner for European Neighborhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn,” the daily says noting that the precondition for the grant’s provision was that a new ministry will be created to manage its spending, while the minister will be an incorrupt official who enjoys the EU’s confidence.
