Serzh Sargsyan visits CANDLE synchrotron research institute

Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan visited today the CANDLE Synchrotron Research Institute, the presidential press service said.

In the control room of the AREAL linear accelerator, Serzh Sargsyan became familiar with the first stage of CANDLE project, AREAL’s work, and international cooperation programs of the institute.

Then the Armenian president conducted a meeting of CANDLE’s Board of Trustees. The institute director Vasily Tsakanov informed the Board of Trustees about short-term and long-term programs of the institute development aimed at raising the level of pilot studies in various scientific spheres.

The Board of Trustees also discussed the report on the 2013-2014 work of the institute, the program on the development of CANDLE synchrotron source in Armenia, and the institute’s budget for 2015.
