Armenian president’s helicopter lands at Stepanakert airport
Armenian President, Supreme Commander of the Armenian Armed Forces Serzh Sargsyan left for a working visit to Nagorno Karabakh today, according to the presidential press service.
The Armenian president’s helicopter landed at the airport of Stepanakert, the capital of the Nagorno Karabakh Republic. The President of NKR Bako Sahakyan welcomed Serzh Sargsyan at the airport.
Accompanied by Bako Sahakyan, the defense ministers of Armenia and NKR, and representatives of the supreme command of the Armed Forces, Serzh Sargsyan will visit several military units of the NKR Defense Army as part of “Unity 2014” joint drills of Armenia and Karabakh, familiarize himself with the combat readiness of the armed forces and army building work, and watch demonstration exercises.
Prior to that, S. Sargsyan went to a training ground in Armenia’s Gegharkunik province where he watched tactical shooting drills and rewarded a number of excellent servicemen.
