Sociologist: Entry into EEU to have positive impact on Armenia
“After joining the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Armenia will not lose the Russian market. Armenian goods are competitive in Russia,” sociologist Aharon Adibekyan told journalists.
“The entry into the EEU will have both positive and negative effects. The entry is positive for Armenia. Sanctions against Russia will result in great demand for agricultural products, which is a good opportunity for Armenian producers,” Adibekyan said.
He noted at the same time that the entry into the EEU will cause inflation. “The exports from Armenia to Russia will lead to a shortage of goods, then to the growth of prices and deepening social polarization. The accession to the EEU will accelerate the emigration process as well,” Adibekian noted.
