Aravot: In Armenia codes thicken, in West they get thinner
“A famous lawyer recently drew my attention to regularity. In Armenia and countries like it, codes are becoming thicker, while in the West they are getting thinner. We try to describe in detail all cases so as not to leave any loopholes and to add new articles, while the Western traditions and culture “lighten” their codes. On the one hand the abundance of laws tempts people to evade them, on the other hand new laws are enacted because of numerous bandits. It will be possible to overcome this vicious circle in case of the authorities’ political will, as they say, but the power is formed by a majority of citizens who have the will to observe laws,” the editor-in-chief of ‘Aravot’ Aram Abrahamyan wrote.
