Three charges brought against Garni community head
Ashot Vardanyan, the administrator of Garni community in Armenia’s Kotayk province, was charged under three articles of the Criminal Code. According to the case materials, he used his powers to help a relative who owned two filling stations not to pay state duties, as a result of which substantial damage was done to the community, the press service of Prosecutor General’s Office said.
Besides, A. Vardanyan took a large sum of money from a resident of their community after he promised the man to recognize him as the winner of the tender to alienate a land plot of the community for building a house there.
Vardanyan was charged under the Criminal Code’s Article 308 part 1, Article 315 part 1 and 2, and Article 178 part 2.
