168 Hours: Prosperous Armenia Party privatizes popular movement
‘168 Hours’ paper says that over a dozen agreements on cooperation have already been signed, according the deputy of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) parliamentary faction Mikael Melkumyan who coordinates work with non-parliamentary political parties at the Council set up by three non-governing parties.
“The point of such agreements is that the signatories express willingness to assist the popular movement with their resources. Although these parties have joined the popular movement, only the leader of BHK Party Gagik Tsarukyan meets with their leaders, while Armenian National Congress (HAK) and Heritage Parties have nothing to do with the negotiations and agreements’ signing. It turns out that BHK has privatized the popular movement. Another problem is that it is incomprehensible when the associated parties will assist the popular movement as it is not known when they will hold at least one event. It seems that one will have to wait for the regular parliamentary elections in 2017,” the paper notes.
