NA adopts bill on temporary disability allowances, opposition boycotts vote
The Armenian parliament passed today - with 68 votes in favor, one against, no abstentions - the controversial bill on amendments and additions to the Law on Temporary Disability Allowances.
Prior to the vote, all the non-coalition factions announced their refusal to vote. The call to boycott the vote on the mentioned bill was voiced by ARF-Dashnaktsutyun faction member Artsvik Minasyan.
The secretary of Prosperous Armenia (BHK) faction Naira Zohrabyan said for her part that the issue is related to numerous risks. For example, the wives of many officials received allowances of 10, 20 and 30 million drams.”
“This issue should be dealt with seriously,” N. Zohrabyan said, noting that BHK deputies will not vote on the bill until all the possible risks are ruled out.
