S. Karayan: Price growth not related to Armenia’s integration processes
The growth of prices in the domestic market, including an increase in dairy prices, has nothing to do with Armenia’s integration processes, Deputy Finance Minister Suren Karayan said during the debates of the Agreement on Armenia’s Accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) in the Armenian parliament today.
In response to a question of independent MP Edmon Marukyan, the deputy finance minister said that the increase in prices on the domestic market and the rise in customs tariffs are different phenomena.
“It is not always that prices of goods increase in parallel with tariff rates - the cost of goods on the domestic market is determined by demand and supply, while the tariff rate may affect the price factors of some imported goods,” the deputy finance minister said.
