Bagratyan: Joining EEU contradicts Armenia’s interests
After joining the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), Armenia will lose the opportunity to implement a foreign policy, the deputy of ‘Armenian National Congress’ (HAK) faction Hrant Bagratyan said today.
According to him, the union is an exchange from an economic point of view, therefore the union is not created for no special reason.
“We are a member of the World Trade Organization. Membership in the Eurasian Economic Union is disintegration that contradicts Armenia’s interests. We are eroding that organization. It is no accident that the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union were established. Armenia always had the honor to serve a dessert, but this time nothing will come out of it. A union cannot be set up without Ukraine,” the HAK faction deputy said.
It is not clear who will sell and buy in that union and what will be sold and bought, Bagratyan said. In his words, Armenia will suffer a defeat in case of becoming a member of the EEU.
